In 2022, artificial intelligence (AI) transformed the technological landscape like we had never seen before. AI has made it easier than ever to integrate information and analyze data in the workplace, and now in higher education. FSU ITS is actively assessing and releasing new Generative AI tools for faculty, staff, and students. These innovative programs encompass a set of algorithms and models designed to generate new content based on preexisting data. We are thrilled to share some of the Generative AI initiatives that are now available for the FSU community. 

• Microsoft Copilot  

Under our Microsoft license, FSU faculty and staff members can utilize Microsoft Copilot via their web browser, ensuring commercial data protection. Microsoft Copilot offers AI chat services, including ChatGPT, without extra fees. It allows users to summarize information and facilitate idea generation while ensuring the security of your data. Embracing the transformative power of AI, Microsoft Copilot is your ally in harnessing the benefits of this advancing technology.  

• AI @ FSU website  

Our own AI @ FSU website is a one-stop shop for everything FSU AI-related. The website explains more about generative AI and how using it can enhance your learning and work experience. As you explore the website, you will see a general overview of each AI service we provide, including Adobe Firefly, Zoom AI Companion, and Microsoft Viva and some others that are in a pilot phase. The website provides learning resources and featured events designed to acquaint you with these software applications and guide you on incorporating them seamlessly into your daily life.  

• Ruby ChatBot  

Introducing Ruby! Ruby is FSU’s AI-driven chatbot connected to the university’s customer support system. Ruby is a digital assistant created to greet and enhance the customer’s live chat experience before connecting to live ITS Service Desk support. Ruby collects necessary information, including the user’s name and support reason, to accelerate resolving queries. Our AI-powered chatbot streamlines communication by providing instant responses to frequently asked questions and routing users to the appropriate support channels.
