ITS adopts organizational change management to better serve FSU
Information Technology Services (ITS) is introducing organizational change management, also known as OCM, to bring an emphasis on the "people side of change." ITS recognizes the need to not only to be a change agent for technology but also to ensure the people who are impacted by the change are prepared and ready for the change. OCM is ready to answer that call. The ITS OCM department will walk people through not only knowing about the change but knowing how to be ready to implement that change with confidence.
ITS is following the industry standard by utilizing the Prosci OCM framework that focuses on seeing how change affects those involved and emphasizes the importance of following up after a change has occurred to better serve the community. This can be achieved with activities such as training, coaching and communication practices with the goal of minimizing disruption to the users’ lives. This proven method shows teams that utilize OCM are five times more likely to stay on schedule and two times more likely to stay on budget. By implementing the OCM framework, ITS is setting up future projects for success before they even start.
The new ITS OCM team is here to help put university technology projects off to the right start and ensure continued project success. To learn more about ITS OCM, check out the organizational change management webpage.
